As New Hampshire's economy continues to evolve, there is a growing recognition of the vital role of skilled trade workers in driving the state forward. From construction and plumbing to electrical work and manufacturing, the demand for trade professionals is rising. This career opportunity surge promises stable employment and offers pathways for personal growth and financial security.

The Trades Landscape in New Hampshire

The trades are experiencing a renaissance in New Hampshire, fueled by several factors. The state’s robust construction projects, aging infrastructure, and a retiring workforce create a pressing need for skilled tradespeople. According to recent reports, New Hampshire will see a significant increase in job openings in these fields over the next decade, making it an opportune time for individuals considering a career in the trades.

NH Bringing Back the Trades: A Step Forward

NH Bringing Back the Trades is leading the charge to bridge the skills gap with a special event and Tradeapalooza Career Fair on November 15, 2024, at NHTI in Concord. The event helps students, parents, educators, and job seekers learn more about trade career opportunities in New Hampshire.

Attendees can speak to companies representing various trade sectors and learn about internship and apprenticeship opportunities. Mike Rowe, creator and host of the Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs, will make a special appearance and participate in a one-hour Q&A session with NH gubernatorial candidate Kelly Ayotte, an advocate for workplace development and education reform.

“This is an outstanding opportunity to meet industry professionals, explore training programs, and discover the diverse career paths available in this vital sector,” points out Randy Furmanick, managing member at Dependable Controls Services, a sponsor of the event.
